About the Opportunity:

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate Injury Management & Claims Advisor to join our vibrant team in Newstead! In this pivotal role, you'll report directly to the Wellbeing, Health, and Safety Manager, taking the lead in managing our diverse portfolio of workers' compensation claims and injury management cases. As the go-to expert, you'll drive employee rehabilitation and recovery initiatives, spearheading early intervention and prevention strategies.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Review, plan, coordinate, and manage the activities of a comprehensive workers' compensation and injury management services work and non-work related across AACo. 
  • Support the People & Culture and Operations teams in pre-employment and work capacity evaluations.
  • Create timely and relevant injury management/claims reports, such as AACo's claims report summary, injury analysis reports, key performance indicator reports, and any other reports requested by the WHS Manager.
  • Maintain comprehensive injury management case/file notes, and injury classification data, and review job dictionary for all roles at AACo.
  • Carry out governance and assurance tasks as needed to ensure the injury management program and privacy principles are implemented and effective.

 

What you will bring to this role:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing Workers' Compensation claims in QLD and NT, involving injury management and return-to-work programs, or similar role experience.
  • Previous experience within allied health or health industry. 
  • Interpersonal and written communication skills essential for effective claims and injury management.
  • Previous experience in assessing and authorising medical services and treatment requests. 
  • Proven track record in resolving disputes with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading project development and implementation related to risk, well-being, and health and safety programs. 
  • Advanced proficiency as an Administrator in utilising and enhancing Incident/Injury Reporting Software like MYOSH or equivalent.
  • Skilled in utilising platforms such as SharePoint, web tools, video, newsletters, and other visual media.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge, understanding and application of NT and QLD workers compensation legislation, regulation, guidelines and Standards of Practice
