Job Description

At AACo, we are proud of who we are: Australia’s largest integrated cattle and beef producer, specialising in grass fed, grain fed, and Wagyu beef production. Established back in 1824, we’ve been doing this a while – in fact, we’re Australia’s oldest continuously operating company.

We’ve had plenty of time to figure out how to be the best workplace we can be, with all the support, training and opportunity you need to shape your career how you want to. We’re dedicated to acknowledging our history even as we look to sustainably feed the future – and we’d love you to join our crew as we take on an iconic 2024 celebrating 200 years of AACo.

Here’s the official stuff

As a team member on one of our stations, farms or feedlots, no two days are the same, from mustering on horseback or motorbike, drafting and trucking cattle, to ensuring our stock are well looked after on our native pastures.

What you need to have:

  • Genuine interest in learning about the agricultural industry whilst living and working in remote locations – we have properties spread throughout QLD and the NT
  • Ability to follow instructions and apply initiative to ensure tasks are conducted in line with safe work procedures and processes
  • Skills in cattle handing, horsemanship and operating a motorbike

Experience in the above is a nice to have, not a must have, but the right attitude and willingness to learn is!

What you need to know about life on station:

  • You’ll get to have a lot of fun with social activities such as inter-station cricket competitions, camp drafts, rodeos, and charity events – as well as our annual Employee Challenge where you can put your skills to the test
  • We have onsite social clubs at all properties, and and gym/fitness facilities at some

What we offer:

  • Air-conditioned accommodation, Wi-Fi access and meals provided
  • New starter allowances, as well as annual operations allowances each year you stay with us
  • The best internal on-the-job training as well as some facilitated by our industry partners
  • Internal transfers to any other property and pathways to take your career in so many different directions – we’re big on promoting from within

This is your chance to experience more from your career, to embrace a life less ordinary. Extraordinary isn’t just out there. Extraordinary is calling! So click ‘Apply Now’ to start your application.

Applications will close 31 October 2024. You can expect to hear from us within 2 weeks of closing date.
