Job Description

About the Opportunity:

AACo is on the lookout for a WHS Coordinator to join our Wellbeing, Health, and Safety (WHS) team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the WHS Operations Manager and the broader WHS team to support the day-to-day functions that drive our WHS Management System and deliver key WHS initiatives.

This hybrid role is primarily office-based, with some travel to AACo sites in QLD and NT to help implement WHS deliverables.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Coordinate day-to-day WHS administration, including travel, finance, training, reporting, and committee meetings.
  • Provide timely and credible WHS documentation and advice, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Conduct research into WHS issues and products, offering actionable insights.
  • Support the delivery of the WHS Strategy and Action Plan, including project trials and evaluations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and monitor compliance across corporate areas.
  • Manage WHS training in the Learning Management System, including health and safety induction programs.
  • Assist with audits, risk reviews, incident investigations, and reporting.
  • Administer the Early Intervention Health and Injury Program, including pre-employment processes and fitness-for-work cases.
  • Collaborate with external safety software providers to troubleshoot and develop solutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging WHS technologies, legislation, and industry trends.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring to this role:

  • 2–3 years previous experience in a WHS coordinator or administration role.
  • Exposure to agriculture, ASX-listed companies, or global organisations is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation (QLD/NT) and familiarity with incident reporting systems like MYOSH.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Diploma in WHS/OHS or equivalent. Rehabilitation and Return to Work or ICAM knowledge is advantageous.
  • Microsoft 365 Suite, SharePoint, and financial administration systems.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Benefits

  • Thrive on continuous learning and growth opportunities!
  • Love working in a newly refurbished office in a central location.
  • Enjoy regular staff events such as Friday drinks and staff lunches.
