About the Role
We are looking for a Production Officer to play a fundamental role in coordinating livestock transactions. In this role, you will collaborate with Sales, Shipping Feedlots, Finance and the Processing team to ensure the accurate and timely fulfilment of customer orders. Your attention to detail and planning will help ensure livestock is processed efficiently to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule slaughter and production of all cattle supply in line with sales requirements and customer orders.
Attend processing establishment and monitor livestock, slaughter and production to ensure required handling, procedures, specifications and orders are achieved
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with third party processors as well as working closely with internal teams including intensive operations, shipping & logistics, commercial and finance.
Ad-hoc support for projects in processing team
Generation of all carcass feedback files for both externally supplied and internally transferred cattle and distribution to respected parties
Processing of all invoices associated with processing of cattle and those associated with the purchase of external carcass and following these through the associated approval routes for payment in a timely fashion
Attend meetings, capture major take-a ways, and work with stakeholders to ensure follow up
Ensure compliance of the Quality Management Systems to the highest standard
Explains evaluation determinations to plant management.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Degree qualification in Business Ag degree or equivalent (desirable) and at least 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, highly advantageous
Beef specification course desirable
Strong understanding of agriculture and processing industry
Proficient in proactive planning and organisation
Excellent presentation and communication skills combined with strong facilitation and workshop skills
Proficiency using Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Power BI, JDE desirable
Ability to take complex information and simplify
Skilled at supporting delivery of complex projects
Demonstrates high attention to detail with regards to AACo’s branded beef specifications.
