Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
General Feedmill Duties
Carryout receival, handling and storage of commodities
Carryout preparation of feedstuffs
Operation of mills, harvestore, tempering system and in-loading when required
Operation of loader for loading feed truck
Maintain all mill areas in a clean and hygienic state.
Carryout feeding of livestock in accordance with Mill procedures on
Mixing of feed in feed truck
Feeding out of ration
Assist in the maintenance of all mill machinery
Carryout general feedlot maintenance as directed
Maintain a clean hygienic working environment
Complete all required mill documentation
Identify and report any existing or potential faults and quality problems
Support in Lick Block production
General Feedlot Duties;
Carry out all general cleaning and maintenance duties at the Feedmill, lick block and surrounding commodity storage areas.
Maintaining accurate records of commodities and feedstuffs.
Prestart check list to be completed daily on all machinery
Inventory control and stocktaking of commodities.
Keep areas clean and tidy, removing rubbish and disposing of all waste
Grease/maintain equipment.
Maintain compliance with WHS, HR, QA and Environmental standards
Machinery Operation and Maintenance;
Operate loaders, tractors, bobcats and other heavy machinery to clean pens, move commodities, loading of trucks.
Assist with vehicle and all facility maintenance as required
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience:
Current Drivers Licence
Knowledge of intensive livestock production systems
Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
Ability to organise/prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working under pressure
Mature and rational approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of and licences (tickets) where necessary for Mill vehicle operation
A willingness to use a computer
Knowledge of grain and commodity specifications
General machinery maintenance skills
