Job Description

We're on the lookout for a Road Train Driver to join our team out at Brunette Downs Station, where you’ll be responsible for the safe transportation of livestock. Brunette Downs isn’t just another property; it’s at the heart of AACo and a huge part of our history! Situated 350km northeast of the nearest town, Tennant Creek.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating a Kenworth T659 2012 Model.
  • Transportation of cattle as directed both on and off the station
  • Handle cattle in line with AACo animal welfare standards.
  • Be responsible for loading cattle at appropriate numbers.
  • Adhere to current fatigue management guidelines.
  • Complete all paperwork as required e.g. Livestock cartage book etc.
  • Conduct general property observations while driving
  • Carry out road train maintenance - Carry out a pre start check daily or before each trip taken.
  • Maintain road train serviceability and ensure the vehicle is of roadworthy condition.
  • Monitor fuel and oil usage and record fuel in fuel log sheets
  • Monitor spare part usage
  • Follow the general guidelines listed below when operating a road train

Desired Skills and Experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10–20 kilo’s and occasionally more.
  • Current MC driver's license
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
