Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to receive training and mentorship from a qualified mechanic based on the station. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining both Anthony Lagoon and Eva Downs stations. Under the direct supervision of the station mechanic, you will inspect and repair vehicles, plant equipment, and machinery to ensure the entire fleet meets AACo’s mechanical and safety standards. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing bore equipment as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the repair and maintenance of heavy plant, light fleet vehicles, light machinery, and associated equipment to meet specified standards.

• Operate plant and equipment efficiently and safely to ensure the satisfactory completion of assigned duties.

• Assist in troubleshooting maintenance issues as they arise, conducting continual testing of repairs to minimise disruptions to operations.

• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with expected quality guidelines.

• Complete both study and on-the-job training components to meet the qualification requirements for a Certificate III in Mechanical Trade.

• Demonstrated interest or experience in motor mechanics.

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to challenges.

• Knowledge of safety regulations relevant to mechanical operations, with a strong commitment to safe working practices.

• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficiency in literacy and numeracy.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements.
