Job Description
This purpose of this role is to carry out regular scheduled and unplanned maintenance of plant, equipment and machinery on property. The individual will be responsible for conducting testing, troubleshooting and repairs on vehicles and machinery as required.
Responsibilities
Maintain, service and repair all machinery, e.g. feed trucks, loaders, Toyotas, bobcats.
Undertake all fixed maintenance of mill machinery.
Operate machinery when required.
Maintain spare parts
Maintain an efficient and safe workshop
Repairs and services to water pumps and pumping equipment
Ensure that equipment and plant on the station is regularly maintained and serviced to a workable level
Create and execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure minimal disruption to station activities
Ordering of parts and other gear needed to ensure work can be carried out on equipment when necessary, and our equipment is not out of commission at length
Troubleshooting maintenance issues as they occur, and typically on an ad hoc basis
Continual testing of repairs conducted to minimise disruption to the business
Perform your job in a safe manner in line with AACo safety programs and procedures
Desired Skills and Experience
Commercial Skills & Work Experience
Previous experience working in a feedlot operational environment
3+ years experience in a similar role
Experience in welding, carpentry, concreting and/or fabrication preferred
Technical capability and understanding
High level of organisational skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Experienced in independently carrying out servicing, repairs & maintenance, fault finding & diagnostics on a wide range of equipment including but not limited to: Trucks & Trailers, 4wd's, Earthmoving & Agricultural Equipment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to organise/prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working under pressure
Mature and rational approach to problem solving
Flexibility - able to meet changing requirements
Initiative - ability to take quick action when required and actively pursue opportunities to make further contributions
Teamwork - ability to work with other people towards a common goal, establish effective collaborative relationships with other people in the business
Qualifications
Trade qualified Motor Mechanic or similar
Current Heavy Rigid License
